A mistake in a crypto transfer is unpleasant, but not always hopeless. A lot depends on where exactly the funds went: to another network, to someone else's address or to the payment details of a different order. Here are the main scenarios and what to do in each of them.

First — don't panic

Find the transaction hash (TXID) and open it in a block explorer: it shows the network, the recipient's address and the amount.
Save screenshots and all the transfer details.
If you sent funds under a Brothers Exchange order, contact support right away with the order number, the TXID and the network the transfer was sent on.

Scenario 1. The right address, but a different network

This most often happens on networks with the same address format: for example, USDT was sent via BNB Chain to a 0x address instead of the Ethereum network. The address “fit”, but the tokens ended up on a different blockchain.

If the recipient has access to the private key of that address, the funds can usually be located and returned on the same network.
If the address belongs to an exchange, the outcome depends on its rules: some platforms return such transfers, others do not.

Scenario 2. A different currency or several transfers instead of one

For example, you sent USDC instead of USDT, paid for an order in two transactions or forgot to include the comment (memo). In such cases automatic processing does not work.

Brothers Exchange helps with refunds where technically possible. If the service has access to the funds received, at your choice we will return them or, with your explicit consent, exchange them at the current rate. We do not charge anything beyond the actual costs — the network or bank fee for sending the refund.

Scenario 3. Paying to the details of an old order

Payment details are valid only for a specific order. If you sent funds to an address from a previous, already completed or cancelled order, contact support — the procedure is the same: help with a refund, or an exchange at the current rate with your consent.

Scenario 4. The funds went to someone else's address

If the transfer went to a stranger, the funds can be recovered only if the owner of the address agrees to send them back: blockchain transactions cannot be reversed.

If the address belongs to an exchange or a custodial service, contact its support with the TXID: sometimes they can reach the account holder.
If fraud is involved, contact law enforcement and keep all the evidence.
Beware of “crypto recovery services” that promise to get your money back for an upfront fee: this is another type of scam.

Scenario 5. The order specified the wrong payout address

If you yourself entered an address with a mistake in the order and the payout went to it, the obligations under the order are considered fulfilled. But we will not leave you alone with the problem: we will provide all the payout transaction details so you can contact the address owner or the platform, and help with a refund where technically possible.

How to avoid mistakes

Select in the order the same network you are sending from.
Copy the address only from the order page and check its beginning and end after pasting.
Send the full amount in a single transaction and remember the comment (memo) if one is shown.
When entering your own address for the payout, check its format and network.
